AMS Dance Studio offers a variety of dance classes for all ages and abilities, including adult classes, and we would love to welcome you into our diverse dance family. Check out our Fall 2021 Schedule to find a class for you and your dancer!
Classes are offered at 2 different age groups: age 2-3 and age 4-5. They are usually 45 minutes long and are a combo of ballet and tap. Students will have fun learning basic musicality, coordination, and dance moves, as well as how to follow directions, and how to behave in a dance classroom setting. This is sometimes the first time this age of dancer will experience separation and independance from their parent/guardian, which can be scary for them, but our teahers are trained to handle it! Children will also gain motor skills, body awareness, and motor planning through creative movement and play. This is a great environment for social interaction within their age group.

Hair must be pulled back into a bun. NO panties or diapers should be worn under leotard or tights. This requirement is in place to get your dancer used to what a proper dance uniform feels like before we put them in costumes for performances. **TIPS: take your dancer potty right before class, and limit their liquids before coming to the studio**
Boy’s dress code: White shirt, black workout shorts or pants, black ballet shoes and black tap shoes (tap shoes must have elastic or velcro straps across instep - no ties).

They will also develop a better sense of musicality and how to count music. Hip hop is a high energy dance style which continues to increase in popularity because of how fun these classes are! Dancers will learn dynamic movements that can be hit sharp or performed smooth. Hip Hop also allows dancers to let loose, worry less about perfecting technique, and focus more on expressing themselves and their personality through movement and music. Class music is primarily set to hip hop or pop music and is all age appropriate. Any dancer starting at age 5 is welcome to participate in hip hop classes. All dancers will begin this class in our 1st level, and entrance into a higher level will require teacher approval.
Dress Code (boy or girl): Fitted t-shirt or tank-top, leggings or jogging pants, tennis shoes. No denim clothing. Hair should be pulled back out of face.
Fundamental classes are designed for beginner dancers that are starting dance at age 8 or older. The goal of these classes is to start with level 1&2 technique and build as much dance knowledge and vocabulary throghout the year as the dancers are able to learn. We work to catch their technique up to their age group so they are able to move into a level class once the teacher feels the dancer is ready.
